In a nut shell, SEO is the process of improving your website to increase its visibility when people search for products or services related to your business on the search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. If done correctly, it can improve the ranking of your website in the organic (none paid) search engine listings.
The search engines favour sites that are authority pages and in turn, lists these at the top of the results pages. You should aim to have fresh, relevant content added to the site on a regular basis. Fresh content is key when improving your SEO. It may be that you struggle to add extra content to your site as you do not want to over complicate the main navigation. Adding a case study, blog or news section can work really well. Unfortunately it is not as straight forward as it sounds and there are a lot of rules and guidelines that need to be adhered to in order to achieve this. There is also an element of “behind the scenes” SEO that needs to be applied that visitors may not see, but the search engines do.
